Are Diapers Really Cheaper at Sam’s Club? (VS Costco, Amazon, Etc)

Disclosure: Some of our articles contain links to recommended products or services in which we may receive a commission if you make a purchase.

The cost of diapers can really add up, so even small savings on this necessary baby expense are welcome. Not only can you find cheaper diapers by carefully shopping amongst different diaper brands, but different stores can also save you some good money on your diaper budget. Many things are much cheaper at warehouse stores, such as Sam’s Club – are diapers one of them?

For nearly every brand and size, diapers really are cheaper to buy at Sam’s Club. If you already have a club membership then you can save substantially on all baby supplies – diapers, wipes, and even formula. If you don’t have a membership, you’ll need to pay at least $45 for a yearly membership to shop at the store.

Keep reading for a cost breakdown of Sam’s Club diapers, as well as a side-by-side comparison of how Sam’s Club prices compare to those of other stores.

Is it cheaper to buy diapers at Sam’s Club?

Sam’s Club offers nearly every big-brand type of diaper: Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, etc. Sam’s Club also sells their own brand of diapers under the Member’s Mark label.

Member’s Mark diapers are legendarily cheap, and in this case, the legend actually holds up: you can buy nearly every size Member Mark diaper for less than twenty cents per diaper! That’s much cheaper than buying diapers at, say, Target, where big-brand diapers usually cost twenty cents or more apiece.

Even shopping for other diaper brands is cheaper at Sam’s Club: Huggies diapers are 2 cents cheaper per diaper at Sam’s Club than they are at Costco!

So, yes, it actually is cheaper to buy diapers at Sam’s Club.

Cost of a Sam’s Club membership

If you’re considering shopping for diapers at Sam’s Club, it’s important to remember that the store does require an annual membership for any purchases (including ordering online).

A standard club membership is $45/year and lets you into the store and fuel center. A pricier Club Plus membership is $100/year and comes with some added benefits, including pharmacy and optical services, and free online shipping.

If you’re planning to shop at Sam’s Club often, the membership fee will probably be worth it given the store’s deals on bulk products. If you’re only planning on buying diapers at Sam’s Club, though, you might want to crunch some numbers and see if your yearly savings will outweigh the cost of the membership.
